Auntie Mame Goes to Annie Mame

This is just so fun really. I went to the opening of “Mame” at Goodspeed Musicals on Friday night, April 20th and was delighted by the show. Of course I would be loving everything about the character of Auntie Mame, because that’s the personality and the era (1920′s-30′s) of my shop Annie Mame. Following this delightfully fun show I got the chance to meet Canada’s first lady of musical theater Louise Pitre who is starring as Mame. I got to talking to the Tony nominated actress and recording artist and she told me she had found her way to Annie Mame where she bought some stationary I have there. She told me she handed out the cards to the cast on opening night with a little note. The cards had high fashion dresses on them, the kind Mame wears in the show. I was flabbergasted, first that she had found my little boutique in Westbrook, Connecticut and two, that this Broadway star, most recently of” Mama Mia” had made a purchase. Louise is full of energy and so much talent. Go see her and the show!
