I don’t know does it get any better than this?
A warm April day with a slight breeze blowing on the water. I thought I’d share it with you.
This happens to be Madison, Connecticut. On a clear day you can see Long Island from here.

I love the beach. When I was girl my mom used to rent a house in Pine Orchard (Branford) for us kids to get away after dad died…then she did it each year until she passed when I was 18. I fell in love with the beach, the smells the ocean. About 20 years ago I landed in Old Saybrook and I fell in love, with the town, the beaches, the shops and the people. Nothing better than a CT shoreline town in my book!
Doris, raising my three daughters near the water has been so much fun, we’d all love a little bungalow on the water some day..
Your photos are wonderful and capture the beauty of the shoreline.
You are right about New Englanders being strong and supporting each other. I haven’t lived any place else, but I imagine that it can be the same thing in other places as well.
Thank you, beautiful post. I could never live anywhere else but New England. Visit, yes, but this is my home.
Was thinking recently, in fact just a couple days ago as I was strolling the sidewalk downtown how much I love being in Madison. This is by far the longest I’ve lived in one town my entire life. Growing up I moved about every three years.
Having been in Madison now since 1978 I finally have deep roots in a community. One of the best things I’ve found about living somewhere and working in the same town where I live, is that I bet I know about 70% of the people that live in Madison. Can’t really go anywhere w/o running into someone I know. Being a social person I really enjoy walking down the street and having someone stop and say hello.
I joke all the time that I certainly wouldn’t make it as a criminal in this town. But I wouldn’t have it any other way.
