Betty White “Hot” in Connecticut
Yes, this is a blog about all things Connecticut, but I digress just a tad to say that this new show staring my fav, Betty White on TV Land, should have been called, “Hot” in Connecticut, not in Cleveland. I’m originally from the Midwest, I know from Cleveland. It debuts in June.
Betty White at age 88, is still hysterical in all her snarkiness after decades upon decades (60 years) in show business. Her Snickers commercial during this year’s Superbowl has catapulted her back into the limelight. By now you’ve heard she’ll be hosting Saturday Night Live during the May sweeps, yes, she’s a ratings getter. Do you know why this is? Well because there are 70 million plus baby boomers in this country and that population is still sitting down and watching TV, unlike younger America who is watching on line and blogging and facebooking and twittering and iphoning and whatever else at the same time. The attention span in America is largely gone because we’re doing so much at one time all trying to cut through the world wide web clutter.
Well you know what, long live Betty White, and congratulations to TV Land for signing her, I can hear the sets being clicked away from the networks right now.
And….it should have been “Hot” in Connecticut, there, I said it again.
