Welcome to Annie Mame’s World
So, I was born in a quonset hut on Goodfellow Air Force Base in San Angelo, Texas in 1957, humble beginnings, and I like it that way.
For the most part I was raised in South Bend, Indiana and of course spent a lot of time at the University of Notre Dame. I got engaged to my high school sweetheart near a lake at Notre Dame and we held our wedding reception on campus as well, so yes, I am truly fond of that school. If you haven’t been to The Grotto at ND to light a candle, you’re missing out, a beautiful magical place.
I kept a diary from the time I was 8 years old and am still writing today, it’s what I do. I love to document and to share ideas and pictures and information, yes I grew up to be a journalist. I needed a place to put all of my “finds” so it was high time I set up a blog. So here it is.
I will be posting videos and photos and ideas and how tos and what if’s all to get you thinking about a lot of things, about everything and hopefully you’ll have a good time coming along with me on my journey. Here’s more about me in an earlier post I wrote for my friend, reporter Mark Joyella on his blog, Local Newser. What a great guy Mark is…he’s married to Tiffanie Wong, they’re expecting their first child and they hit an international nerve in the fall of 2009 with “My Husband is Annoying.”
This is an interesting life I lead, and I’m here to share it with you. The header on this blog is from one of my favorite movies, “Auntie Mame” starring Waterbury, Connecticut’s own, Rosalind (Roz) Russell. For those of you who don’t know that movie here you go… Welcome.

I am thrilled to see you blogging for yourself! I look forward to reading what I don’t hear at dinner.
